If a teen needs to miss classroom time, it will have to be approved by our office first. Then we will make arrangements for you to make up your missed time.

Eye exams for our virtual classes are scheduled once the class begins. We will reach out by email/text to inform you of the date and time for the eye exam. If you are unable to make it to the in-person eye exam, you will need to reschedule for our next in-person eye exam or take a form DL-77 to your eye doctor and have them do your exam.

The state requires 30 hours of classroom time for anyone under 18 years old. This is typically broken down into ten 3 hour Zoom sessions. The 6 hour drive time will be scheduled after classroom time is complete.

A $100 Administration fee will be applied to all approved refunds. The school will not refund any tuition monies or any part thereof when actual services have been rendered.

No. Effective October 1, 2026, North Carolina no longer requires teen drivers to obtain a Driving Eligibility Certificate (DEC) from their high school or homeschool.

Driver Education is still required. Students under age 18 must successfully complete an approved Driver Education course, including 30 hours of classroom instruction and a minimum of 6 hours of behind-the-wheel instruction.

After successfully completing Driver Education, the student will receive a Driver's Education Completion Certificate from All American Drivers Education. This certificate is still required when applying for a Level 1 Limited Learner Permit at NCDMV.

Important: The Driving Eligibility Certificate (DEC) has been eliminated. The Driver's Education Completion Certificate has not.

Yes, we charge a $100 fee for no-shows and late cancellations with less than 48 hour notice. This is because we have to confirm our instructor's schedules in advance and we have to pay them for their time even if you don't show up.

Yes. Eligible adults age 18 and older with a valid North Carolina learner permit who are seeking their first North Carolina Class C driver license can take their official road test with All American Drivers Education. After passing with AADE, you will receive the documentation needed to complete your licensing transaction at NCDMV. You will not need to take another road test at the DMV.

Yes. Eligible teens ages 16-17 can take their official Level 2 Road Test with All American Drivers Education. Teens must have held their Level 1 Limited Learner Permit for at least 9 months, completed and logged at least 60 hours of supervised driving, and meet all other NCDMV eligibility requirements. After passing with AADE, you will receive the documentation needed to complete your Level 2 licensing transaction at NCDMV. You will not need to take another road test at the DMV.

Teens will begin their behind-the-wheel time once they've completed the 30 hours of classroom time and passed the eye exam.

Adults can begin behind-the-wheel training once they have obtained a valid learner's permit or license.

​This document verifies that a student's vision and medical condition are approved by a representative of the NC Division of Motor Vehicles or a certified driver education instructor. It authorizes the student to operate a motor vehicle with their driving education instructor to complete the required six hours of behind-the-wheel instruction. This is for students under 18 years old.

Absolutely, parents or guardians are welcome to ride along as long as they observe and refrain from instructing from the back seat.

No. Behind-the-wheel instruction may begin after the student has passed the required vision/medical screening. Students complete three 2-hour driving lessons. The third driving lesson cannot be scheduled until the classroom portion of Driver Education is complete.

No, you do not need to add your teen to your insurance for them to complete their behind-the-wheel Driver Education instruction with AADE. When your teen applies for a Level 2 Limited Provisional License, NCDMV requires proof of liability insurance coverage in the teen driver's name at that time. The teen may be listed as an insured driver on the vehicle owner's insurance policy.

No. All behind-the-wheel instruction is completed in an All American Drivers Education training vehicle equipped for Driver Education instruction.

Yes. All All American Drivers Education instructors are licensed by NCDMV to provide Driver Education instruction in North Carolina.

You must contact our office at least 48 hours before your scheduled driving lesson to cancel or reschedule. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made with less than 48 hours' notice are subject to our $100 cancellation/rescheduling fee.

No, we have found that one student and one instructor is the best ratio for teaching our students.
